About Jeannine

My name is Jeannine Kiely.

I'm running because you deserve a leader who knows how to deliver.

Our brightest days are still to come if we stay in the fight.

Voters chose a bold new direction in November, and we need leaders in Albany ready to deliver on the affordability and justice agenda New Yorkers demanded. I'm ready to be your voice.

I'm the daughter of public school teachers and a mom to two boys, one in college and the other in high school. I've raised my family in this district and understand the needs of our community, both from experience and my many years of listening as a public servant.

I've served for 14 years on Manhattan Community Board 2, including as Chair of the Board, and am a Democratic District Leader for the 66th AD, Part B. I've led transformational change as a co-founder of Literacy Academy Collective, which has opened the first two, free, district public schools for students with dyslexia. Only two other such public schools exist in the entire nation.

I have a record of tangible wins that are unmatched in this race. I delivered a new middle and District 75 school in Greenwich Village, achieved 100 percent affordable housing at 388 Hudson Street and founded Friends of Elizabeth Street Garden – supporting the win-win solution to build more than 620 units of affordable housing alongside preserving the Garden. I successfully fought for new fields at Pier 40 and Gansevoort Peninsula on behalf of Champions, an affiliation of downtown youth sports organizations that represents more than 12,500 children.

As your Assemblymember, I will fight the hard fights every day and deliver the results you deserve.

We're grateful for your donations!
